Our Work
We believe every childhood is worth fighting for.
That's why we’re here. That’s what drives all our work, and that’s why - as long as there’s abuse - we will fight for every childhood.
Last year alone ChildLine counselled almost 300,000 children. And, around the country, we worked directly with over 11,500 children and families face-to-face to help them overcome the effects of abuse. This support comes at a vital point in a child’s life - and can change the course of their future.
We run a wide range of services for both children and adults, including national helplines and local projects. Not only that, we speak up for children. So if a law needs to change, or if more needs to be done to protect children, we demand it, lobbying government and calling for change.
National Helplines
ChildLine is the UK's free, confidential helpline dedicated to children and young people. Whenever a child needs us, ChildLine will be there for them, online and over the phone. We provide a listening ear - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
NSPCC Helpline is our helpline for professionals and members of the public. If you're worried about a child, even if you're unsure, contact our professional counsellors 24/7 for help, advice and support. Call us on 0800 800 5000 or e-mail help@nspcc.org.uk
NSPCC Schools service
Our ground-breaking NSPCC Schools Service uses specially trained volunteers to talk to primary school children about abuse in an age appropriate way, giving them the skills to protect themselves and showing them where to go to for help. To find out more please visit our schools services page.
NSPCC Service Centres
We have over 40 service centres across the UK and work directly with children and families on a range of issues - from protecting children from sexual abuse, through to helping pregnant women and new mothers in need of support, and providing advice and consultancy to social workers. All of our services provided are free of charge and we couldn’t do this if it wasn’t for the generosity of our supporters.
