Law firms across England and Wales have once again been going the extra mile the local good causes, and this is our chance to showcase them.
North west firm Bermans raised money for its nominated charity Paul’s Place, a specialist counselling service for people bereaved by suicide. Staff took part in the Liverpool Santa Dash as part of this year’s appeal.
National firm Burges Salmon hosted its own talent show at the Bristol Beacon, raising £15,000 for the charity Fairer Futures for Young People.
Along with magic and stand-up acts, the firm’s senior partner, Chris Seaton gave a rendition of Frank Sinatra’s My Way ahead of him retiring from the business next year.
Bond Turner, based in Liverpool, hosted a Christmas jumper day, staff quiz and best Christmas tree photo competition, all in aid of the Kind Christmas Appeal, providing hampers to local families.
Midlands practice Rothley Law presented a cheque for £12,680 to Headway Birmingham and Solihull to mark the end of a year of fundraising which includes staff completing the National 3 Peaks Challenge.
National firm Bevan Brittan made donations to four charities – Age UK Birmingham, 1625 Independent People in Bristol, Zarach in Leeds and Thames Reach in London, after each of its offices was asked to nominate a local good case. In total, the charities were given £25,000 from the year’s activities.
Staff from Manchester-based Express Solicitors wrapped and delivered a van load of presents to the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust, a charity that ensures underprivileged children have something to open at Christmas. The firm also provided 300 mince pies for a local primary school and raised money for Little Lady Locks, a charity which helps children who have suffered from hair loss.
