Registered Charity No: 1188439  (England & Wales).

The Windmill Hill Windmill Trust (WHWT) was set up and registered as a charity in 1996 to restore the windmill at Windmill Hill in Sussex – a Grade II* listed post mill originally built in 1814.

Over a period of thirty years the mill has been carefully restored to full working order and can once again produce flour. It continues to be preserved, maintained and operated by WHWT for the benefit of the community and for future generations.

WHWT is fully committed to providing public access to the windmill for leisure, education, research and study purposes; and actively encourages community participation in operating the windmill.

Conservation and maintenance are key aims, but we also strive to make the windmill accessible and relevant for visitors of all ages. We have an education programme for school children, and we are developing milling experiences and activities for adults.

If your interest is in windmills, heritage, history and Sussex you can help to ensure that this magnificent building continues to be protected and enjoyed for years to come by leaving a legacy to the WHWT in your will.
