4 out of every 5 children living in orphanages in Thailand are not truly orphaned. Children across Thailand are frequently separated from their families as a result of poverty, trafficking, political instability and abuse.

Safe Child Thailand is a registered UK charity working with families and communities across Thailand to ensure that children grow up in a safe and nurturing environment. Our vision is a Thailand where all children grow up in a safe and loving family. For 40 years, we have strengthened families and communities through education, health, and empowerment, raising awareness of child protection and child rights, advocating for care reform. By working with our local partners, we believe that educational opportunities for children are critical in keeping families together and we fight to ensure that every vulnerable child such as those fleeing war, or those who are abandoned, at-risk, alone or with disabilities can access education whether it be in day-care centres, migrant learning centres for young refugees, or government schools.

For the children who have no option but to live in residential care, we work with partners to deliver safe, quality care for at-risk children in small, well-managed homes with extended outreach support to the community.
