Law Society Charity, The
This charitable fund was established in 1974, independent and in close collaboration with The Law Society (TLS), making grant awards to a wide range of organisations with a view to further law and justice. The Charity supports organisations whose work is related to the law and legal profession; and whose activities would likely benefit from funds made available on behalf of solicitors.
Access to Justice Foundation, The
Every day thousands of people need help with legal problems that if left unaddressed can quickly spiral out of control. We exist to ensure people can gain free legal advice so that they can escape homelessness, be safe from abuse, have an equal and respectful workplace, and more.
Angel Advocates
Angel Advocates is a Christian charity offering independent and legal advocacy when needed. Our purpose is to empower and enable all our clients to tell their truths to power. We want all our clients to have an Angel with them when they face life’s challenges, from the classroom to the courtroom. We know that having someone in your corner, just for you, with no agenda other than making sure your views are heard, has the power to change lives.
LawCare
LawCare is the mental health charity for the legal sector. We provide free, confidential support, peer support, and information to anyone working in law across the UK, Channel Islands, and Isle of Man. We also work to improve mental health practices in legal workplaces through education, training, and research. Whether you’re having a tough day or dealing with a bigger challenge, LawCare’s helpline is a safe, non-judgemental space to talk.
LawWorks
LawWorks (the operating name for the Solicitors Pro Bono Group) is a charity working to enable access to justice through connecting people to free legal advice. Covid-19 has already had a significant impact on the vulnerable groups and communities supported by clinics on the LawWorks network, our members and volunteers. Many people will suffer from loss of employment, difficulty accessing benefits, housing issues, and domestic abuse, and these issues are likely to continue long after the immediate crisis is over.
Support Through Court
Every year, thousands of people in the UK face court alone. Often through no choice of their own, they must represent themselves at a moment that could determine the rest of their life. We stand with those who have nowhere else to turn. We provide a free service across England and Wales, offering support and guidance before, during, and after court.
The Solicitors’ Charity
The Solicitors’ Charity provides comprehensive support to improve the wellbeing of solicitors, helping them to overcome life’s challenges. People contact us for all sorts of reasons - because of struggles with finances, ill health, disability, and anxiety, often caused by work-related stress or life-connected trauma.
