A City solicitor who fell short in an ITV endurance challenge says he wants to do it all again. Laurence Jacobson, managing associate at Mishcon de Reya, just missed out on a place in the semi-finals of Ninja Warrior UK in the heats broadcast last month.
Jacobson beat 18,000 applicants to be one of 200 people selected for the show. He lasted around a minute on the course before coming off at the net and falling in the water below.
The 35-year-old is a parkour (free-running) enthusiast and triumphed in numerous physical challenges just to qualify for the heats.
‘I thought that this would be something different and a nice change from sitting behind a desk,’ said the M&A specialist. ‘In preparation for the show, I focused on rope and assault course training during my parkour sessions. Unfortunately there was no net training – something that I’ll need to brush up on if I’m going to apply for series three!’
