Clipston is also head of business legal services at Irwin Mitchell’s Southampton office. Her expertise lie in commercial litigation and the resolution of disputes for commercial organisations, particularly in the sport and leisure industry.

She will head a team of 13 partners, 10 senior associates and seven associates.

Clipston takes over the role from Vicky Brackett, who will remain CEO of the firm’s business legal services division and an exec board member.

Clipston commented: 'Irwin Mitchell has a proud heritage in ground-breaking litigation work and I am delighted to be heading up the firm’s commercial disputes team.

'I look forward to building on Vicky’s efforts to work with colleagues across the firm and ensure we build on our significant capability across business, family-related or personal injury-related disputes.'

Brackett added: 'Hannah is the ideal candidate to continue driving our commercial litigation offer forward and I’m confident she’ll lead the department to great success.

'She shares my vison for growing the team and along with others here, she’s worked hard to position us at the forefront of changes in relation to video courts and mediation. Hannah’s innovative approach will be crucial in helping us to push the boundaries for our clients during these challenging times.'
