Gerard Childs and Stephen Price appeal their convictions for murder. They were jailed for life in December 2013 for attacking Jonathan Fitchett outside a branch of JD Sports in Merseyside.
R v Gerard Owen Childs and Stephen Jeremy Price
The pair claim their convictions - secured under controversial joint-enterprise laws - are unsafe because jurors could not have been sure they both intended to kill or seriously injure the victim when the fatal blow was landed. Following the quashing of their murder convictions, Childs received a sentence of seven years for manslaughter, while Price was sentenced to two-and-a-half years for affray.
