Registered Charity No. 1198116 (England & Wales).
For over 30 years the UK charity Bees for Development has been using beekeeping to combat poverty, benefit biodiversity, and build resilient livelihoods for some of the world’s poorest people.
We provide skills and training to people living in poverty, to become successful beekeepers. This in turn encourages people to protect natural habitats, restore degraded landscapes, and mitigate climate change. We use local skills, local knowledge, local materials and local bees to alleviate poverty and protect biodiversity.
Beekeeping provides income for families - enabling them to pay for their children to go to school, to receive a life-changing education and the opportunity to escape from the poverty cycle. Our work ensures that people who face inequality – women and girls, people with disabilities and minority indigenous groups, can access benefits from bees.
Remember Bees for Development in your Will, and help us to transform lives through beekeeping.
