From what we read in the popular prints, today’s young people are no strangers to the nation’s court rooms. Perhaps that’s why the Ministry of Justice is expecting the government’s free schools to snap up many of its newly vacated court buildings. Justice minister Jonathan Djanogly told the Commons last week that his ministry has agreed with the Department for Education to offer sites at Mid-Sussex, Sutton Coldfield and the London boroughs of Balham and Haringey to free school developments. The idea, presumably, is that even if the kids struggle with the rigorous new curriculum, at least they’ll be able to find their way around.
