International firm CMS has launched a redundancy consultation potentially 15 roles in its UK Real Estate Group based in London. It is understood that the potential redundancies will not affect partners.
’We are in discussions with those affected and cannot comment further at this stage,’ a spokesperson said.
The consultation marks the firm’s second redundancy round in 16 months. CMS began a redundancy round in 2023 in the firm’s corporate team, axing up to 19 junior lawyers.
In a statement last August, Stephen Millar, managing partner at CMS UK, blamed ’various headwinds’ and a ’quieter transaction market that hasn’t rebounded as quickly as anticipated’ for slower revenue growth than in previous years.
