London firm Anthony Gold has paid tribute to former senior partner Howard Lerman, who died on 23 April after a short illness.

Lerman, born in 1948, was a highly respected property lawyer. He was one of the firm’s earliest partners, joining the firm in 1974 after completing articles in the City. He retired in 2019.

Managing partner David Marshall praised ‘a much-loved colleague as well as an excellent lawyer’. He added: ‘I was trained by him, and he was always there for me with sound and wise counsel throughout our time in partnership together. Everyone at Anthony Gold will miss him very much and our thoughts are with his family and friends.’

In a statement, the firm said: ‘During his years in practice as a solicitor, Howard accumulated a wealth of experience and was an expert in virtually the entire spectrum of transactional property work. It was rare for him to encounter a set of circumstances he had not seen and dealt with previously.’

Lerman is survived by his wife Louise, children Georgina and Paul, and grandchildren Rae, Morrison, Penelope and Ophelia.
