Registered Charity No: 314229 (England & Wales).
Tall Ships Youth Trust (TSYT) is a youth development and outdoor learning charity, which has been improving the skills and life chances of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds since 1956. We envision a world where all young people strive to create better outcomes for themselves and for their communities.
We operate four iconic 72ft Challenger yachts, enabling young people aged 12-25 from across the UK to develop crucial life skills through our three-voyage programme of Exploration, Empowerment and Leadership. During their journey with us, they will also build self-esteem and embrace a healthier, more active lifestyle.
We give around 1,200 youngsters a life-changing experience every year, approximately 80% of whom are experiencing disadvantage.
Our beneficiaries are facing a range of challenges including learning, mental or physical disabilities; behavioural, emotional, or social difficulties, caring responsibilities; many are from ethnically diverse backgrounds; from low income/single-parent households; at risk of exclusion or not in employment, education, or training, or on the cusp of or already involved in crime.
We receive no government funding and rely strongly on the generosity of the public to deliver our vital youth develop work. To find out how you can help more young people to change their lives at sea by leaving a gift in your Will to Tall Ships Youth Trust, please visit www.tallships.org
