Registered Charity No: 1141216 (England & Wales).

The London Music Fund is an independent charity (no. 1141216) whose vision is that every child who demonstrates significant musical ability, enthusiasm and commitment to learning an instrument should be given the opportunity to develop their potential.

Our mission is to enable young Londoners from disadvantaged backgrounds to have access to high-quality, sustained, progressive music education. Winner of ‘Outstanding Musical Initiative’ at the 2021 Music & Drama Education Awards, the charity supports young people in some of London’s most disenfranchised communities by supporting individual instrumental Scholarships for children at primary school and funding a number of inspiring collaborative projects for young people aged 8-18.

Since 2011, the London Music Fund has invested over £4m in funding to music education in London, awarded over 900 four-year Scholarships, and reached almost 100,000 young musicians through wider projects.

We believe that access to music education should be available to every child, and not just those from more privileged backgrounds. From increased academic attainment to improved behaviour, confidence and social skills, there is growing evidence that learning a musical instrument enriches a young person’s life. These benefits radiate through that their family into their local community, and beyond.

Leaving a legacy gift in your will to the London Music Fund will enable us to ensure children from low-income families have access to music in their lives a time when more and more families are seeing instrumental tuition as a luxury they simply cannot afford.
