Liver disease will affect someone you love, with 1 in 10 people in the UK suffering directly or from related conditions. Your support will help fund our team of over 40 research scientists in advancing both diagnosis and treatment.

Established in 1974, the Foundation for Liver Research has funded many of the pioneering developments in diagnosis and treatment of liver disease and our mission continues to fund critically important, clinically translational research with impact in the UK and around the world.

Since our establishment, the Foundation has championed patient-centric research to revolutionise liver disease prevention, diagnosis and treatment alongside the development of the next generation of research scientists specialising in liver disease through funded PhD programmes.

The Foundation funds research at The Roger Williams Institute of Liver Studies, in partnership with King’s College London University and King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, where we provide state-of-the-art laboratory facilities for academics, clinicians and students and enable collaborations with fellow hepatologists around the world.
