Every year across the UK, millions of people need legal advice. They are families at risk of eviction and homelessness, disabled people navigating complex welfare systems, or workers challenging discrimination from an employer. But they won’t get the support they need - because they can’t afford it or they don’t know where to turn.
Good advice at the right moment is the crucial difference.
If you are reading this then it is likely that you are seeking good advice to help you make the best decisions for you and your loved ones.
You may also have dedicated your career in law to help people navigate challenging times.
With your help The Access to Justice Foundation can fund charities across the UK offering free legal advice to people like Fiona.
After 15 years of physical and psychological abuse, Fiona fled her partner after suffering a near fatal assault. She was sleeping in her car - not sure how to protect herself and her children, or how to start rebuilding their lives. After contacting Domestic Abuse Volunteer Support Services (DAVSS) volunteers helped her get a non-molestation order and home security through the Sanctuary Scheme. They introduced her to a lawyer for free divorce advice. With ongoing support, Fiona felt safer and stronger. She began her divorce, found work, and regained her confidence and independence.
A gift in your will help build a future where legal rights are for everyone.
