Closure of magistrates courts will hardly appear as an issue at the forthcoming local elections as few people use them on a regular basis.However for those who must attend what will seem like a regional court the expense of money and time may be considerable. Hence the need for alternative ways of delivering what is a service to both compulsory and voluntary users of the court system

It would appear that history has no place in the digital era as cost reigns supreme in the provision of a public judicial system with the risk of a reduction in respect for the public sphere which seems always to be the subject of efficiency drives and loss of expertise as delivery becomes mere process with limited human participation.
