We have a solicitor profession incapable of unity. We have a leadership which lives to talk. Barristers appear to be united yet poorly led. Grayling is ripe for attack yet he remains intact.
Meantime people are appearing in Court unrepresented or paying for representation and not being fully remunerated if acquitted.
We have a police service, prosecution service and court service that is under-resourced. Justice works only because of goodwill.
Probation is to be privatised. Prisons are full. Penal policy isn't working.
Let's forget about the fees and fight for a proper justice system. It's worth fighting for.
