Lithman doesn't seem to appreciate the fact that the only reason the government have offered the bar a deal is because the no-returns policy has started to hurt the system. Although solicitors are less able to damage the system, both because they are less unified and because the court system and police stations are more suited to dealing with unrepresented defendants, the bar should still cooperate with us as we truly are stronger together.
