Does Aldi sell its products outside of its stores / websites? In other words, will I see Taurus next to Thatchers in my local Tesco? I doubt it. I also doubt that I will see Thatchers next to Taurus is my local Aldi. So, that being the case, the chance of me "plonking" one brand in my trolley instead of the other is somewhere between slim and none (and more to the bottom end of that chance scale).

People shop at Aldi for a reason - the cost of the goods its sells / value for money. I'd suggest that the success of Taurus is the price point, not the packaging. The fact people are still drinking it also suggests that they have got a product that appeals taste wise. Whether that is a close match to Thatchers is not a matter I can comment on (as I'm not a cider drinker) but that doesn't seem to be the issue in point.
