I's like to suggest that as a matter of principle we should give the minister the benefit of the doubt, though to her that may be an alien concept, and assume that in referring to victims she meant to include defendants awaiting trial and in particular those in custody.

All the same, that doesn't mean she's right to condemn the strike.
