For those who use QCs, and for silks themselves, this should be good news. However, isn't it putting the cart before the horse? Wouldn't it be better to establish and monitor a proper QA scheme for all junior criminal barristers before setting this in motion? I say 'proper' QA scheme because, no matter what the outcome of the appeal, QASA, as currently structured, is fatally flawed, won't be accepted by the criminal bar and, even if it's forced on them, won't work in the practical courtroom situation. Maybe that's why the BSB have only provided the bullet but won't fire the gun?
