I know how hard it must be although mine are now university students so dead easy., Luckily my grandchildren's full time day nursery reopened on 1 July.
I think 1. I would never ever have let this be a mother's issue - writing as a woman who earned 10x their husband - both of us arranged and did childcare - no mention of the father in the article - very strange unless she is a single mother I suppose and 2. I would hire in child care at £10 a hour even if it meant I and their father worked for nothing - fairer on everyone, employer, child etc.
