The strategy expert hired to turn around the fortunes of the QualitySolicitors network will leave after just over two years in the job.
The company yesterday confirmed that Eddie Ross will step down as chief executive to take on an advisory role.
His replacement will be Ben Greco, managing director of the property services firm Move With Us, which is part of the same legal services stable Simplify Group.
Some QS firms already work with Move With Us as a conveyancing panel partner, and it is expected Greco’s appointment will strengthen those existing ties.
Ross was appointed as chief executive in January 2014 with a background in rebranding and company relaunches.
His task was to oversee a network that had started to lose member firms and severed its much-vaunted links with high street retailer WH Smith and US online legal services site LegalZoom.
Ross admitted at the time that the network had grown too quickly and needed to change its approach to member firms to improve the service on offer.
QS said it is now established as a ‘leading legal services website’, with 1.3 million unique web visitors in 2015 generating more than 38,000 leads and enquiries for member firms.
The company said it will enhance this aspect of the business by using the Move With Us lead-conversion teams.
A spokesman added: ‘Converting more of those new business leads into profitable legal cases will boost revenues at QualitySolicitors firms as well as improve end-customer satisfaction with quality of process and speed of response.’
Greco added: ‘In the last two years QualitySolicitors has strengthened its brand position, in particular online, and created a powerful lead-generation engine.
‘I am excited about working with the network to really maximise the value of those leads for the benefit of the QualitySolicitors member firms directly, and in further strengthening the QualitySolicitors brand.’
