National firm Bircham Dyson Bell today joined the roll of firms posting healthy annual results by announcing profits up by nearly one-fifth last year.

For the year ending 31 May 2015 the firm announced ‘accounting profits’ up 18% to £11.1m. Turnover rose 10% to £34.5m.

The firm said profits were driven by strong performances in the charities, government and infrastructure, real estate, litigation and corporate and commercial departments. It has also benefitted from the integration with family and private client firm Ambrose Appelbe, which merged with Birchams last year.

Jesper Christensen, managing partner, said: ‘These are excellent financial results, with revenue increasing as a result of ensuring that client satisfaction remains at the heart of everything we do.

‘The results are also further proof that the single equity structure adopted in June 2013, under which all partners have an equity stake in the business, has been a great success.’
