London-based Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe hires Mark Fennessy to its creditors’ rights, restructuring and bankruptcy practice in London. He was formerly head of Hunton & Williams’ corporate restructuring and insolvency group in the capital.

Around the UK, Warrington firm Fiona Bruce & Co promotes Phil Porter, who joined as an assistant five years ago.

Southern firm Thomas Eggar promotes Leon Arnold and Andrew Jackson while Estelle Clarke joins as partner from Lester Aldridge, and will head the firm’s banking advisory presence in Southampton.

National firm HBJ Gateley Wareing appoints Robert Bryan to head its construction team.

North-east firms Mincoffs and Jacksons will merge to create Mincoff Jacksons, comprising 21 partners. Mincoff’s senior partner Howard Gold and Jacksons’ senior partner Nigel Kidwell will head the new firm.

7 Bedford Row chambers appoints Peter Rouse as chief executive. He had been working as a consultant after leaving Rouse Legal, the firm he established in 1990.
