Partners in real life have become business partners too with the advent of a new law firm.
London firm WCC LLP has been formed by solicitor Anna Comerford and IT guru Jonathan Warren, with the venture granted an alternative business structure licence by the SRA last year.
Comerford, from Chelmsford, had spent her entire career in private practice and wanted to run her own firm, but needed tech support and expertise to complement her own skills.
The solution quickly became apparent: he was sitting across the dinner table.
Warren had spent 20 years in data, software and technology development and the two decided to harness their talents to create a remote law firm.
Comerford explained: ‘I am a civil litigation lawyer and in the times of fixed costs we have got to learn to be super-efficient. We have to squeeze our costs. Jonathan looks at the way I work and the bits that are time-consuming but that don’t require expertise.’
Warren added: ‘Over the years, I have had the privilege of working as a bioinformatician and senior software developer, where I have gained invaluable experience in leveraging technology to solve complex problems. This unique blend of expertise has led me to explore new avenues where I can apply my skills to make a meaningful impact.’
We wish them well in the new business venture.
