SDT website allows users to step inside the tribunal, from reception through the lift and all the way to the hearing room.

Obiter hopes that no one reading this would ever find themselves facing the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal. But for those that do, help is at hand from a simple but very effective virtual tour of the building.

The SDT website allows users to step inside the tribunal, taking you from the reception all the way to the hearing room. The idea being to help parties, and in particular those representing themselves at hearings, as well as members of the public, to get a feel for what to expect on the day

Each room along the way has brief description of what goes on there and what visitors can expect (the free tea and coffee is a decent benefit, though probably not risking your career over). Clicking on different characters gives an explanation of their role.

With defendants understandably unlikely to want to pose for pictures on their visit, the tour features actors taking the role of solicitor/legal representative/tribunal member. The person playing the role of prosecuted solicitor looks suitably sombre, and sports a mullet that would surely have him hauled before the fashion police once his stint at the SDT is up.

Check out the tour yourself from this link.
