While some solicitors may be feeling a little isolated during this lockdown, those at Slater and Gordon are probably seeing more of each other than ever. The firm has rolled out a number of options for staff to collaborate and engage, including a gardening club, book club, quiz club, fitness club, and Netflix and chat group. Several staff have also been willing participants in the ‘isolation beards’ group, with some decent efforts already just a few weeks into lockdown.
The firm has initiated a group-wide working from home challenge, fancy dress Friday and even an S+G Got Talent contest. After many years of London employees hosting bootcamp every Tuesday, this too has continued virtually.
If a little extra help is needed, colleagues have also been given access to Thrive, an NHS-approved app which focuses on improving mental wellbeing. The app uses games to track people’s mood and teaches methods of taking control of stress and anxiety.
