The first response to Obiter’s call for rocking lawyers comes from Stratocaster master Philip Astles, front man of The Fabulous Duck Brothers: A Tribute To Eric Clapton.

‘I get to be Eric in the band and we have a great time most weekends when we find ourselves gigging here and there around the country,’ says Astles, who in his spare time is managing partner at London and Thames Valley firm Kidd Rapinet. The Brothers’ repertoire includes Cream and Derek and the Dominoes standards including Layla, I Shot the Sheriff and Obiter’s all-time fave, the enigmatic Badge.

‘I’ve been playing the guitar and singing since I was 17,’ says Astles. ‘Love it.’

Catch The Fabulous Duck Brothers on Youtube at or performing live at the Acoustic Couch, Bracknell on 23 November (£8).
