Alas, we must bid adieu to the True and Fair party. This was the political vehicle founded by Gina Miller, patron saint of ‘Remainers’ and once a household name, courtesy of her eponymous public law cases.
True and Fair’s four 2024 general election candidates received just 0.01% of the vote, with Miller losing her deposit in Epsom and Ewell.
The party was dissolved via voluntary strike-off last week.
That’s a pity, for there was one eye-catching proposal in True and Fair’s manifesto. This was to create an ‘MP school’, where constitutional lawyers would teach House of Commons newbies about how Westminster works (or ought to work).
We reckon Nigel Farage and his fellow Reform neophytes would have played truant from such a worthy institute of pedagogy. Now we’ll never know.
