Respect and felicitations to Touch Solicitors, which topped the charts in this year’s annual Will Aid charity will-writing campaign. The Oldham practice, which has been taking part in Will Aid since 2011, raised a startling £43,000 for good causes, making it the highest donating firm across the UK this year.

Director Trusha Velji said: ‘Taking part in Will Aid is truly a team effort and we’re delighted to have given so many people the reassurance of knowing they have a professionally written will. We love taking part in the campaign and raising money for charity. It is incredibly rewarding and to have raised such a significant amount this year by pushing boundaries is phenomenal.’

Will Aid takes place every November and involves solicitors waiving the fee for writing a basic will and instead inviting clients to make an upfront donation to the campaign. The suggested donation for a basic single will is £100, and £180 for a pair of mirror wills. Since 1988, when Will Aid launched, solicitors have helped raise over £24m in donations alone. Not a lot of people know that.
