When film crews take over the Royal Courts of Justice, it’s generally because they want to film a court. That’s obviously too boring a concept for Steven Spielberg, whose set designers are hard at work today turning the back of the Victorian pile into a French cafe.
We understand that it’s for a scene in the forthcoming mini-series Masters of the Air, the air force follow-up to Band of Brothers. Carey Street, off Chancery Lane, will be closed for filming over the weekend while it pretends to be a 1940s Paris street.
Somewhere, no doubt, a film crew is busily converting a French cafe into a court of justice…
