A Scottish lawyer has waded into the controversial fallout from the hit series Baby Reindeer to say she too has been a victim of stalking.

Laura Wray has said she was stalked by a woman named Fiona Harvey, who is thought to have been the inspiration for the character Martha in the Netflix show.

‘Martha’ is portrayed as having stalked the protagonist, a struggling comedian who is played by the show’s creator Richard Gadd, who said the story of the show is true.

The legal advocate told Piers Morgan Uncensored: ‘I seem to have been her major obsession over all these years.’

Harvey, who has claimed that she is the woman on whom the character of Martha is based, says she is a qualified lawyer.

Wray said Harvey did have a law degree and stated that they first came into contact when Harvey was looking for a traineeship.

The lawyer, of Edinburgh firm Westwater Advocates, said she had received ‘quite a number of letters from her’ and eventually offered Harvey the role following an interview.

Harvey was ‘dreadful’ to work with, Wray told Morgan, claiming she was ‘rude to staff’, was 'inappropriate' with one male employee and allegedly threw a book across the office and hit somebody with it.

Harvey was ultimately asked to leave but had to be escorted from the office after refusing, Wray added.
