The gossip columns today buzzed with the prospect of a newly-qualified solicitor entering the ITV2 reality show Love Island.

The show, which invites contestants to a Majorca resort and lets romance blossom, is reported to have signed up 26-year-old Rosie Williams as a secret addition moving in this week.

Described by a Sun ‘source’ as ‘young, glamorous and up for some fun’ and calling herself ‘legally brunette’, University of Law graduate Williams was admitted as a solicitor only in March. However an active Instagram account suggests she sees a career beyond bundles and budgets.

Quoted in the Sun, she said: 'I am definitely not serious all the time. There is a stereotype when it comes to solicitors and not everyone is the same. There is a lot more than just law books and sitting behind a desk.

'I definitely have a wild side; I go out with my girls and travel – but nothing that could ever get me into trouble with the law. I am sensible but I am fun as well as safe.’

Williams, according to a now-unavailable LinkedIn profile, trained with Manchester practice Just Costs, and her blog on fixed costs for clinical negligence is still on the firm’s website.

Obiter hopes that, among the usual sweet nothings, pillow talk and villa challenges she finds the time for a quick discussion on the Jackson reforms and the rising cost of claims against the NHS. It’s surely what the Love Island audience is waiting for.

Love Island is on at 9pm nightly.
