Four centuries after the rash and bloody deed, Hamlet is to stand trial for stabbing Polonius through the arras.

The murder case will be heard at Wyndam’s Theatre, London, on 27 November, in aid of the Shakespeare Schools Festival. A cast of actors will be questioned by John Kelsey-Fry QC, Jonathan Laidlaw QC, Shaheed Fatima QC and Ian Winter QC in front of Court of Appeal judge Lady Justice Hallett.

Hallett said: ‘I relish the opportunity to combine my loves of the law and the theatre on the West End stage and will ensure Hamlet gets a fair trial!’

This trial follows the sell-out The Trial of Macbeth last year. For tickets go here.
