Across the pond, Hollywood actor Lindsay Lohan – best known for her roles in Freaky Friday and Mean Girls, M’Lud – has a new sideline. She has been appointed spokesperson for Lawyer.com, a directory service. Obiter is all in favour of ex-offenders getting new chances in life, but we wonder about the wisdom of this one.

‘When Lawyer.com first reached out to me, I was confused and a little scared because I thought I was in trouble,’ says Lohan, who is no stranger to the inside of a courtroom. ‘But when they asked me to be their spokesperson, I was intrigued,’ she explains. ‘Lawyer.com is just about helping people. From getting a DUI – let’s not pretend like I didn’t get one… or two or three, or some others,’ she adds – somewhat disarmingly.
