Dame Fiona Woolf, president of the Law Society between 2006 and 2007, made a welcome return to Chancery Lane this month to hear the 12th Fiona Woolf Lecture.
‘What an incredible ego trip. I can’t recommend it highly enough,’ the former Lord Mayor of London said of having a lecture series named after her.
This year’s was delivered by Vidisha Joshi, former managing partner of London firm Hodge Jones & Allen. Unlike one of her predecessors, Joshi knew exactly who Woolf was.
The former Chancery Lane chief recalled: ‘One Fiona Woolf lecturer turned up and said “before we start, I wondered if you could tell me a bit of history – who was Fiona Woolf?”’
