As George Osborne will no doubt confirm, the recovery is in full swing. And nowhere was this more in evidence than at the Modern Claims conference last week, where the stands were brimming with symbols of prosperity.

Attendees were treated to champagne over lunch, free cans of Pimms and even full-sized easter eggs. It’s all a far cry from the ‘Post-It-note downturn’ of recent years, when you’d be lucky to come away from legal conferences with a ballpoint pen.
