If you want to get your steps in, raise money for a good cause, and see some of the sights west London has to offer, then may Obiter remind you Walk the Thames will be taking place on Saturday 5 October.
The event begins between Tower Bridge and London Bridge and follows the river all the way to Hampton Court. Those walking or running the half marathon length can stop at Putney instead. The Law Society team will be doing their bit to raise money for free legal advice charities.
Lord Justice Haddon-Cave will be running the full marathon while Sir Peter Gross will be walking the half marathon. If you do not fancy the early start – it is the weekend after all – then there is an afternoon half marathon option, starting in Putney and finishing in Hampton Court, which will see walkers set off at 12pm.
In 2023, more than 100 walkers raised more than £13,000 for frontline free legal advice agencies and it is hoped the event will beat last year’s total.
If exercise on a Saturday is not your thing, you can always show your support by donating to those that are taking the challenge on. You can sponsor the Law Society’s team here.
