Nicola Foulston, the former chief executive of City firm RBG, does not seem to have lost her appetite for the legal world. She has announced a ‘significant investment’ in a legal software venture set up by veteran pricing expert Richard Burcher. Foulston is also expected to replace Burcher as chair of the startup, Virtual Pricing Director.
Foulston, of course, parted company with RBG in less than happy circumstances: the parties announced a £500,000 out-of-court settlement of her breach of contract claim last year. With two former colleagues, she also saw off a race discrimination claim which the Employment Tribunal found had been timed to cause ‘maximum embarrassment’ to the firm.
Still, onwards and upwards. Burcher, founder of costs consultants Burcher Jennings, said: ‘Nicky’s decision to invest and eventually join us as chairman aligns perfectly with our vision to scale up. Her deep understanding of the legal sector will be invaluable.’
