Obiter’s award for political heroism this week goes to our energetic courts minister Sarah Sackman KC MP. Addressing a bash at the London Court of International Arbitration to celebrate the Arbitration Act's Royal Assent, the minister revealed that, when prepraring her speech she had searched the web for arbitration jokes.

'Such things exist, but they are confidential between the parties,' Sackman said. Either that or they get set aside in the High Court.

She's here all week, apparently.

Gazette readers can surely do better than that. How many arbitrators does it take to change a lightbulb, perhaps?
