The Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) has announced further help for solicitors who missed last week’s target date for activating their mySRA account. The SRA said that 118,000 had successfully registered by that date.

It is urging anyone needing a new activation code to visit the relevant pages of its website.

The SRA has also extended the operating hours of its contact centre. It will be available between 0830 and 1700 on Monday and Friday, from 0830 to 1900 on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and from 0900 to 1400 on Saturday.

A video outlining the process for firm renewals is available on the SRA website to talk people through what they need to do. The SRA said the mySRA project ‘will save everyone in the legal profession time and money once fully operational’.

Firms and individuals renewing certificates or registrations have until 13 February if the first letter of their full name is from A to D and until 21 February if it is from E to Z.

Those who wish to remain on the Roll but not renew their PC will be able to do this through mySRA from 2 April 2.
