International firm Herbert Smith Freehills today shrugged off any concerns about investigations into its role at the Post Office inquiry by announcing double-digit increases in profit, turnover and PEP.

Unaudited results for the year ended 30 April show profits up 14.5% to £444.5 million on revenues up 10.1% to £1.3bn. Profit per equity partner rose 12.1% to £1,315,000.

The results mark the firm’s 11th consecutive year of revenue growth, chief executive Justin D’Agostino said. 'Our focus on our clients, core practices and priority sectors keep us in the leading pack of international law firms. In particular, our twin-engines of transactional and contentious expertise drive our business forward, as clients continue to turn to us for their landmark deals and most complex disputes.'

Growth was seen across regions, with further very strong performance in the UK. Australia, Asia, EMEA and the US have also grown, D’Agostino added.

Last month it emerged that HSF had been replaced as advisers to the Post Office in the ongoing inquiry into the Horizon scandal.
