Profits at the London arm of litigation-only firm Quinn Emanuel slipped last year - but still represented 65% of a growing turnover, the firm revealed today.

In provisional financial figures for the 12 months to 31 December 2024, the firm announced gross income up 12% to £220.1m - the first time turnover has exceeded £200m. Total profits slipped 6.6% from £153.6 million to £143.4m.

London senior partner Richard East said: 'We are pleased to report our figures for 2024, which have again shown a very significant increase in revenue. The UK office of QE has for the first time exceeded £200m in revenue, also achieved without any material contingency recovery.

'The slight reduction in profitability this year derives primarily from the write off of fees and costs relating to a number of historic matters. We are well placed and look forward to 2025, during which we expect to be involved in numerous high profile trials, appeals and other court proceedings.'

Quinn Emanuel’s headcount in London includes 29 partners, nine of counsel and 86 associates.
