A private equity-backed group has added to its collection of regional firms, taking its collective annual turnover past £100m.
Lawfront revealed today it had acquired the Kent firm Brachers for an undisclosed amount. The firm’s brand will remain in place while the group provides back-office support through IT and AI and business and marketing development.

The group, funded by private equity house Blixt, already owns Farleys, Fisher Jones Greenwood, Nelsons and Slater Heelis.
Brachers was founded in 1895 and operates from offices in Maidstone and Canterbury. It has been led by managing partner Joanna Worby since 2013.
In the year to April 2024, Brachers’ turnover increased by 16% to £19.5m and profit before members’ remuneration and profit shares rose 46% to £7.2m. Headcount edged past 200 during the year, while the profit attributable to the highest-paid member rose from £419,000 to £647,000.
Meanwhile, another one of the Lawfront cohort, East Midlands-based Nelsons, has itself acquired a firm of 20 people.
Commercial litigation specialist Else Solicitors, based in Burton upon Trent, will become part of Nelsons after operating as an independent firm for 22 years.
