A long-serving former office manager for a City firm has been barred after being found to have sold office equipment on market website eBay.

Glen Warwick, who worked for Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP in London’s Square Mile, sold the firm’s property on the site without his employer’s knowledge or consent. According to a Solicitors Regulation Authority notice published today, Warwick and an unnamed colleague received around £47,475 from the various sales, which went on for four years in total.

Warwick, a non-solicitor, had worked for the firm and its predecessor business from 1994 until his resignation in October 2021.

The SRA found his conduct to be dishonest and made him subject to a section 43 order, preventing him from working for any regulated firm without first seeing permission. He must also pay £600 towards the SRA’s investigation costs.

Faegre Drinker took on its current form after a merger in 2020 of Faegre Baker Daniels and Drinker Biddle & Reath. The firm has 1,200 lawyers, consultants and other professionals in 21 locations in the US, London and Shanghai.
