National firm Irwin Mitchell has promoted 14 of its lawyers to partner roles – all are women.

The promotions span employment, public law, Court of Protection, medical negligence, serious injury, asbestos and occupational disease, family law and the private client advisory team.

The new partners are based in the firm’s offices in Sheffield, Southampton, Manchester, Newcastle, Birmingham, Leeds, Reading and Nottingham.

All Irwin Mitchell’s promotions, including those promoted to associate (52), senior associate (32) and legal director (21) are active from 1 May.

Meanwhile international firm DLA Piper has announced 65 partner promotions, effective from 1 April in the US and Canada and 1 May for EMEA and Asia Pacific.

Of the 65 promoted, 15 are women. The gender split for those promoted within DLA Piper’s UK offices is three women and nine men.

The firm’s corporate practice group has the largest intake of new partners with 19 promotions, other partner promotions have been made in finance, litigation, real estate, employment, intellectual property and technology, tax and regulatory and government affairs.

The majority of new partners (23) are based in the US followed by Europe (20), the UK (12), Canada (5), Ireland (2) and South Africa (2).
