A Manchester firm is seeking to more than double its workforce over the next six months with a massive hiring spree.

Veritas Solicitors LLP, based in Manchester’s Cardinal House, wants to take on an extra 150 people to add to its existing headcount of 118. The Gazette understands the business has backing from a private equity investor, although the name of that backer has yet to be disclosed.

The firm began in 2007 and currently specialises in housing disrepair, financial mis-selling, personal injury and clinical negligence. It will use its increased resources to create new departments covering immigration, industrial disease, commercial and employment law.

Managing partner Faraz Fazal, who was admitted as a solicitor in 2009, said the firm has grown quickly but shows no signs of slowing down.

‘The projection and growth plan we have for the coming months is extremely ambitious, but we are very confident we can achieve it,’ he said.

‘As we branch into new areas of law and continue to bring justice to more people, we constantly demonstrate why we are one of the fastest growing law firms in the north west.’

Veritas’ housing disrepair department has seen significant growth over the past few months with the firm currently dealing with thousands of claims and growing.

The firm is looking to employ people across the business from solicitors and paralegals to supervisors, managers and trainers, along with tech related staff.
