North west firm Glaisyers has said that its expansion into prime Manchester city centre premises cements its emergence as a national presence.
The firm has taken a 10-year lease, with the option to extend for another five years, on a 9,580 sq ft office in Hardman Street in the Spinningfields business district. The site was previously occupied by property consultants Lambert Smith Hampton.
Glaisyers has been plotting its expansion through organic growth and mergers since it was bought out by German professional services network ETL Global. The firm opened a new office in Liverpool’s Old Hall Street earlier this year and has a headcount of 72, although the new Manchester premises alone can provide for 100 staff.
Executive partner David Jones said: ‘Since 2018 we have evolved from a regional stalwart into a national force with a growing international reputation. This move into high-class offices in the heart of the city’s financial and business district is testament to what we have achieved in the past five years despite a global pandemic and what can politely be called "interesting times" economically.’
Jones said the firm wants to keep its existing client-facing approach even with the move to new offices and the shift towards flexible working. ‘Our early investment in IT systems to enable home working allowed us to see out the pandemic relatively seamlessly,’ he added. ‘However, we also believe passionately in the importance of face-to-face collaboration, team camaraderie, and hosting clients and business partners in a professional environment that reflects the exceptional quality of our team and our legal advice – and that is what these new premises will provide.’
